You are Amazing!

Hello,

Do you know that you are simply ‘amazing’!  In case you’re not totally convinced, just read on.  Let’s start with self esteem.  Your self-value, self-worth, self-confidence and self-respect, it is the way you see yourself and how you value yourself.  It’s all about what you think of yourself and not what others think of you.  Confidence means self-assurance, self-belief, coolness and faith while worth depicts value, appeal, significance and importance.

What is your worth?

‘So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them’. (Genesis 1:27).  You are created in God’s own image and likeness.  An image is a picture, a representation, showing a likeness or similarity, a resemblance, reflection or copy of something.

Throughout the bible, we are told that we are people of great value.  I want you to really believe what God says about you because He cannot lie.  If you are a fashion designer, you will be the one to determine the price of your dresses because you are the designer.  God is your original designer so what He says about you is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

Check out these verses in the Psalms – You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.  Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvellous – and how well I know it.  You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.  You saw me before I was born.  Every day of my life was recorded in your book.  Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.  How precious are your thoughts about me, O God!  They are innumerable, I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand.  And when I wake up in the morning, you are still with me. (Psalms 139: 13-18 NLT)

Isn’t it amazing how God put so much thought, precision and careful attention into creating you.  You are definitely not an accident even if your parents didn’t plan to have you.  God says you are wonderfully made, a result of His beautiful handiwork, you are marvellous in His sight.  Always refer to this verse when you don’t feel good about yourself.

What do you think of yourself?

  • Do you have little confidence in your own worth and abilities?
  • Do you think you are a mistake?
  • Do you feel unloved and unwanted?
  • Are you easily influenced by your peers?
  • Do you think that you can’t achieve anything as a woman?

Regardless of what you think of yourself at the moment, I want you to begin to see yourself the way God sees you. You need to think differently in order to act differently.  If you want to start seeing yourself the way God sees you, you need to change your thoughts about ‘you’.  To change your life, you have to start from the inside.  As a man thinketh, so is he (Proverbs 23:7)

Firstly, you need to identify your dominant (major) thought about yourself and change it to what God says about you.  I am not talking about what you think others think about you but what you think about yourself.  I want you to identify that and change it to what God says about you.

Your dominant thought will be based on what you watch, hear and eat.  What you watch will determine what you hear and they can determine what you eat, that’s why advertisements are so effective.  A good example was when I took my children to a performance by The DonutMan.  After the show, all I wanted was a doughnut! Why?  It was because there were doughnuts on display throughout the performance.

To avoid having premarital sex as a single lady, you cannot afford to watch pornographic movies or programmes where casual sex is encouraged because they will expose you to bad thoughts.  To keep yourself pure, you have to guard what goes in through your eyes and ears because they will plant seeds/thoughts in your heart.

To have confidence in who you are, your dominant thoughts has to be thoughts of confidence.  To have a healthy self esteem, you cannot allow negative thoughts to be your dominant thoughts.  When God started speaking to me about confidence/self-esteem, I checked my dominant thoughts to make sure they were in line with God’s word.  Sometimes it won’t be easy to identify your dominant thoughts because so many thoughts go through your mind every second.  You might think that you only think about other people but stop and check – what are you really thinking about yourself?  Are they in line with God’s word and promises?  Remember that God thinks you are amazing!

Believing in you and cheering you on always,

Dupe
